Zdravo!
I’m Yohanes Ragil, a Balinese illustrator based in Slovenia. I’ve been working as a graphic designer and illustrator for over six years, both in-house and as a freelancer. My illustration style draws inspiration from the bold textures and striking contrasts of traditional linocut techniques. Much of my work explores themes from nature, featuring animals, plants, and cultural ornaments that reflect my roots and creative curiosity.
Background
I grew up in North Kuta, Bali, where I was deeply influenced by the rich culture and traditions passed down through generations. The visual art forms that surround everyday life on the island have shaped my creative perspective from an early age.
Later, I spent nine years studying in Yogyakarta and Semarang, which opened my eyes to a different artistic philosophy rooted in Javanese culture. That experience helped me grow both personally and artistically.
Work
I create custom illustrations that can be applied to labels, decorations, and a wide range of other designs. I also handle the graphic design side of things to ensure everything fits together seamlessly. My process starts from scratch; with research, concept sketches, and close collaboration, guiding each project carefully until it reaches the final result.
